A Technology Assessment and Roadmap for a National Park Organization

The Story

A national park organization focused on advocating the enrichment and protection of national parks for current and future generations engaged Build to assist in their growing technology needs. The organization was curious about its current technology structure and obstacles surrounding the significant growth in its constituent and volunteer programs. They approached Build with reporting challenges, consolidation of data obstacles, and a hindrance in viewing the full constituent journey. Build leveraged the opportunity to introduce current technology trends to capture, consolidate and enhance reporting of constituent data, which included optimizing efficiencies in their current CRM. Build provided a comprehensive technology assessment and roadmap focusing on CRM efficiencies and establishing further development processes. The findings led to positive discussions with leadership regarding this initial engagement and recommendations, including an appreciation of Build’s innovative and fresh perspective on technology capabilities. Build’s relationship continues with developments of standardized operating procedures, cybersecurity recommendations, the discovery and selection of a new CRM volunteer system, and CIO and CRM management commitments.

In Their Own Words

“The Build team has an intuitive understanding of organizational culture and how to facilitate change, respecting each staff member in adapting to new business processes and technology. They have a deep understanding of the cross-functional needs of nonprofits – fundraising, communications, volunteer management – as well as the IT systems supporting them, and provided clear guidance in developing a strategic plan for technology.” — Development Officer
